Needless to say, we here @ the Kade/Guertler Compound have all been in an emotional frenzy from the inauguration shennanigans and the hope for a better Am-u-rica has been heady to say the least.
In the spirit of this optimism I thought, rather than my more common rants about what makes me crazee...I'd highlight in my mind, and on this here bloggy, the things that are making me happy today!
here goes (in no particular order)
Puppy Sweaters (specifically the lovely little kelly-green/turtlenecked number that I successfully completed for my Wurgie Man last night: picture pending)
Hot Bubble Baths (I'm headed down for one when I'm done with this post)
My Job (I know, that seems like an odd thing to list, as I am pretty much chronically career-dissatisfied...but really, it's not so bad. And I'm grateful that I have one, and that my management staff is supportive and flexible with my scheduling)
My family (Not going to get into specifics on this...but the past few weeks I feel like we've all hit a kind of groove around here and we're peacefully coexisting - nice :)
Leigh's New Studio (He recently cleared out part of the mysterious bathtub/paper room of doom and made a work are...it makes him happy...and if he's happy, I'm happy)
Nutella
Nutella on a banana
Yarn (I'm a bit of an addict!)
Discovering new authors & comics (I just started reading the Watchmen, yes I'm a little bit late on that train sosueme, it is AWEsome!)
$20 wingchairs from the DI(We picked up a nice, matching pair today...seem to be from a hotel or something....clean, no ass-groove - sweet)
Friends
Over the knee-high socks (especially with skulls on 'em)
The look the cat gives me when she's out of food
The puppy cuddling up and warming my tushy when I go to bed...(it's downright nauseatingly cute I'm sure!)
Crocheting with Molly
The yummy new vegetarian sausages we had for dinner
Driving about town, listening to the radio, when Nitz-er-Eb (sp?) comes on the radio...car dancing (like a naughty monkey) at an intersection and looking over at the car next to me and seeing ANOTHER 30-something lady, with a reddish a-line & horn rims...cardancing and reliving her youth right along with me!)
NickelMania (I got my "name on the board" on Tetris & Mario Bros 5x!!)
Obama
I'm sure there are more, and as I continue to try to foster positivity in my little world, I look forward to listing more...I invite everyone to do the same...
have a wonderful day, and a pleasant tomorrow!
